Sunday's. Lesson

lesson for Sunday, August 19, 2012 is "God's Promise of a Righteous Branch." Scripture: Jer. 23:1-6; 33:14-18.

Overview

There is a warning from God to the pastors that scatters the flock. There is judgment and destruction for those pastors who cause the flock to scatter and go against the things of God. These pastors were teaching idolatry and was unjust and unfair with their dealings with the people. For this, the God of Israel l dealth with their evilness.

God promised to bring back the flock that was scattered to their homeland. He promised to give the people pastors that would obey Him. He promised them a Righteous King from the lineage of David. The Righteous King will restore Israel to live in safety and peace. Jerusalem will have righteouseness bestowed upon her people once again.

The role of a pastor is serious business in the eyes of God. One should not take it lightly. Souls are at stake. Pastors should take their flock's interest to heart, constantly going before God, seeking His face for his/her flock. Pastors should not seek vain glory, nor seek to make the office of pastor a personal venue. If the pastor errors, God will deal with him/her. Our job is to pray for them.

"Blessing "

EVERYONE NEEDS A BLESSING

( 2 CORINTHIANS 9:9 AMP )
AS IT IS WRITTEN, HE [ THE BENEVOLENT PERSON ] SCATTERS ABROAD; HE GIVES TO THE POOR;
HIS DEEDS OF JUSTICE AND GOODNESS AND KINDNESS AND BENEVOLENCE WILL GO ON AND
ENDURE FOREVER!

It is both good and scriptural to bless the poor. They should be one of our primary targets.
Look for people who are needy and bless them. Share what you have with those who are less fortunate than you are.
But remember, everyone needs a blessing-even the rich, the successful, and those who appear to have everything.

We all need to be encouraged, edified, complimented, and appreciated. We all get weary at times and need other people
to say to us, "I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you and all you do"

I believe God blesses us so we can be a blessing-not only in a few places, but everywhere we go! So remember to sow into
the poor and the rich, the downtrodden and the successful (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

If you live to meet needs and to bring others joy, you will find "joy unspeakable" in the process (I Peter 1:8 KJV).

I want to leave something as a result of my journey through life. I refuse to pass through it as a "taker". I have decided
to be a "giver". I want to bless people in tangible ways. I pray that you have the same desire.

Start using what you have to be a blessing, and your well will never run dry.

HAVE A SAFE & BLESSED DAY

Hebrews 11: 6 Amplified
But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exist and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
