Hi All,

The lesson for Sunday, October 28, 2012 is "Furthering the Good News." Scripture: Acts 8:26-39.

OVERVIEW

Nothing just happens! Nothing is just luck! Nothing is just a coincident! Everything is orchestrated by God. Have you ever had a problem and you didn't know what to do and suddenly God sent a person to give you the answer you needed? Or you didn't have the money to pay your bills and God sent someone to just give you the exact amount or enough money to handle your business? Or it may not have been any of those situations, but you were in dire-straight and couldn't see your way out, but suddenly God moved on your behalf? How many of us are in the desert of our lives, how many of us are at a place in our spiritual walk that is barren and dry? Well, welcome to our lesson!

We find Philip getting directives from an angel telling him to go to Gaza, which is a desert. How many of us would have gone to the desert? What's in the desert but dry land and dirt. How many of us would have obeyed the angel, without questions or hesitations? Philip went as he was told and there in the desert found an Ethiopian man, who was sitting in the desert, in his chariot, reading the word of God.

The Spirit told Philip to go and join the man, who was reading the word out loud. Naturally, Philip heard him and asked him, do you understand what you are reading? The man replied, no, how can I except someone guide me. The Ethiopian was ready for the truth, his heart was ready to received truth and he took the sayings of Philip and his spiritual eyes were opened.

As a result, Philip preached with so much conviction and as they traveled they came upon some water. Let's be real, what are the odds or chances of water being in the desert at the very moment Philip and the man was passing by? The Ethiopian saw the water and wanted to be baptized. Philip and the man went into the water and the man was indeed baptized. Then, suddenly, immediately the Spirit took Philip to another city. The Ethiopian and Philip never saw each other again.

Sunday's Lesson Sept. 16,2012

Steadfast Fortitude ;-Heb. 12:1-11
Fortitude. Means

strength of mind that enables one to endure adversity with courage

Hebrews - Chapter 12:1-4

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Heb.1-4 is a picture of one running a race, with this race being the Christian race. What is the Christian race? A. It is the race for heaven B.it is the race to live with God forever. C.it is the race to knowGod,to commune and fellowship with God both now and forever.
One point is this we have a bread cloud of witnesses who believed God and stood fast for God against all kinds of trials, temptation , and opposition . What our grands endurance should stir and inspire us to believe in our belief

We know disciplines are required in any race, must drink much water, must eat the wright diet. Must not be weighted down with excuses clothing correct shoes so one won't trip us, you got it ok

In this Christians race it also requires disciplines A. To lay aside every weight & the sins that so easily trips us. The word " Lay aside" (apothemenoi) Means to take of, strip off, and to remove as in taking off clothes. All serious athletes train and train to remove all excess weight right

The Christian runner must strip off the sin which so Easley trips or besets him. The words " Easley besets" (euperistation) means the sin which cling, distracts, entangles, and trip up the Christian runner, it is the picture of clothing flapping around a person while he is running . Example pride, pleasure, worldly friends. Possessions these are a few thing can slow the Christian runner down
Job 11:14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof
Ever
Heb 12:5-11 let us know who over trainer is Jesus Christ you know athletes will pay good money for the best trainer. Sometime the the trainer have to chastened

Our trainer is a perfect trainer it is because of him Jesus we can run the race because he finish the race on Calvary He took all our sins that would cause us to loose the race
He corrects us by his Holy Spirit and we must under the reason a. To assure us we are his children 's v8 B. to save us and to stir us to truly live. V9

V5 we are not to despise( meoligori) discipline the word means scorn to treat lightly
We are not to "faint" (exluou) the word means give up; to loose heart to buckle under

Eph 3:13 Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

Sunday's. Lesson

lesson for Sunday, August 19, 2012 is "God's Promise of a Righteous Branch." Scripture: Jer. 23:1-6; 33:14-18.

Overview

There is a warning from God to the pastors that scatters the flock. There is judgment and destruction for those pastors who cause the flock to scatter and go against the things of God. These pastors were teaching idolatry and was unjust and unfair with their dealings with the people. For this, the God of Israel l dealth with their evilness.

God promised to bring back the flock that was scattered to their homeland. He promised to give the people pastors that would obey Him. He promised them a Righteous King from the lineage of David. The Righteous King will restore Israel to live in safety and peace. Jerusalem will have righteouseness bestowed upon her people once again.

The role of a pastor is serious business in the eyes of God. One should not take it lightly. Souls are at stake. Pastors should take their flock's interest to heart, constantly going before God, seeking His face for his/her flock. Pastors should not seek vain glory, nor seek to make the office of pastor a personal venue. If the pastor errors, God will deal with him/her. Our job is to pray for them.

"Blessing "

EVERYONE NEEDS A BLESSING

( 2 CORINTHIANS 9:9 AMP )
AS IT IS WRITTEN, HE [ THE BENEVOLENT PERSON ] SCATTERS ABROAD; HE GIVES TO THE POOR;
HIS DEEDS OF JUSTICE AND GOODNESS AND KINDNESS AND BENEVOLENCE WILL GO ON AND
ENDURE FOREVER!

It is both good and scriptural to bless the poor. They should be one of our primary targets.
Look for people who are needy and bless them. Share what you have with those who are less fortunate than you are.
But remember, everyone needs a blessing-even the rich, the successful, and those who appear to have everything.

We all need to be encouraged, edified, complimented, and appreciated. We all get weary at times and need other people
to say to us, "I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you and all you do"

I believe God blesses us so we can be a blessing-not only in a few places, but everywhere we go! So remember to sow into
the poor and the rich, the downtrodden and the successful (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

If you live to meet needs and to bring others joy, you will find "joy unspeakable" in the process (I Peter 1:8 KJV).

I want to leave something as a result of my journey through life. I refuse to pass through it as a "taker". I have decided
to be a "giver". I want to bless people in tangible ways. I pray that you have the same desire.

Start using what you have to be a blessing, and your well will never run dry.

HAVE A SAFE & BLESSED DAY

Hebrews 11: 6 Amplified
But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exist and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].

Behavior Reflects Belief

BEHAVIOR REFLECTS BELIEF

( COLOSSIANS 2:6-7 NKJV )

AS YOU HAVE THEREFORE RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS THE LORD, SO WALK IN HIM, ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN HIM AND ESTABLISHED IN THE FAITH, AS YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT, ABOUNDING IN IT WITH THANKSGIVING.

As Christians, we must do our best to make sure that our actions are accurate reflections of our beliefs. Our theology must be demonstrated not only by our words but, more importantly, by our actions. In short, we should be practical believers, quick to act whenever we see an opportunity to serve God.

English clergyman Thomas Fuller observed, "He does not believe who does not live according to His beliefs." These words are most certainly true. Like it or not, your life is an accurate reflection of your creed. If this fact gives you cause for concern, don't bother talking about the changes that you intend to make-make them. And then, when your good deeds speak for themselves-as they most certainly will-don't interrupt.

Obedience is the natural outcome of belief.
C.H. Spurgeon

God'Creations

IN HIS IMAGE

( GENESIS 1:27 NIV )

SO GOD CREATED MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE, IN THE IMAGE OF GOD HE CREATED HIM; MALE AND FEMALE HE CREATED THEM.

What is your attitude today? Are you fearful or worried? Are you more concerned about pleasing your friends than about pleasing your God? Are you bitter, confused, cynical, or pessimistic? If so, it's time to have a little chat with your Father in Heaven.

God intends that your life be filled with spiritual abundance and joy-but God will not force His joy upon you-you must claim it for yourself. So do yourself this favor: accept God's gifts with a smile on your face, a song on your lips, and joy in your heart. Think optimistically about yourself and your future. Give thanks to the One who has given you everything, and trust in your heart that He wants to give you so much more.

I may not be able to change the world I see around me, but I can change the way I see the world within me.
John Maxwell

- A Daily Proverb -
( Proverbs 4:25 NCV )
Keep your eyes focused on what is right, and look straight ahead to what is good.

A thought

We must learn through trials, disappointments, and heartaches, learn what it fells like to suffer, learn how to conquer all through the Power of God. That we must help those who are going through similar trials, disappointments, and heartache . God allows us to walk through difficult times for the sake of other people, that we might be able to minister to them

DO YOU WONT TO GET WELL?

WANT TO GET WELL?

(JOHN 5:5-6 )

THERE WAS A CERTAIN MAN THERE WHO HAD SUFFERED WITH A DEEP-SEATED AND LINGERING DISORDER FOR THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS. WHEN JESUS NOTICED HIM LYING THERE [HELPLESS], KNOWING THAT HE HAD ALREADY BEEN A LONG TIME IN THAT CONDITION, HE SAID TO HIM, DO YOU WANT TO BECOME WELL?
[ARE YOU REALLY IN EARNEST ABOUT GETTING WELL?]

Isn't this an amazing question for Jesus to ask this poor man who had been sick for thirty-eight long years: "Do you really want to become well?" That is the Lord's question to each of us as well.

Do you know there are people who really don't want to get well? They only want to talk about their problem. Are you one of those people problem? Do you really want to get well, or do you just want to talk about your problem. Sometimes people get addicted to having a problem. It becomes their identity, their life. It defines everything they think and say and do. All their being is centered around that particular problem.

If you have a "deep-seated and lingering disorder," the Lord wants you to know that it does not have to be the central focal point of your entire existence. He wants you to trust Him and cooperate with Him as He leads you to victory over that problem one step at a time.

Whatever our problem may be, God has promised to meet our need and to repay us for our loss. Facing truth is the key to unlock prison doors that may have held us in bondage.

God yearns to see you become all that He has planned for you to be.
