Daniel's Prayer Of Confession

Sunday's lesson Daniel 9:4-14
Daniel is still in Babylon in captivity after the siege in Jerusalem because of their Sins and disobedience to God. God use there Enemies to chastise them.

Prophet Jeremiah had prophesied .

Jer 25:11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

At the time of our text the 70 years is coming to an end. And Daniel did not want anything to hinder these Jews from being delivered from captivity.

He knew God will do what He said He would do. Daniel also knew God is merciful even to rebels, if they confess their sins and return to Him.

Don't let your past disobedience keep you from turning to God. He is waiting with opened arms

Daniel knew how to pray. He had read GOD'S word and believed them.As he prayed, He fasted confessed his sins, and pleaded that God would reveal His Will

Verse 4-8 Daniels Confession of Sin
Read verse 5. Daniel didn't blame all the sin on the nation He included himself . We have Sinned.

Two often we believe every thing wrong in our Churches, home,or job that is wrong is someone else .

If we would pray we may realize we ant so innocence. He go on name some sins. He was reminding. ISREAL the reason they were being Chastisement
Read verse 6. God had sent many prophets to speak to his people, but there message was ignored .God still speaks. Through Preachers, Teachers, friend

9-14 Daniel mentioned the blessing and curses outlined in Deuteronomy 28 you need to read Deuteronomy

Deu 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
Deu 28:2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Deu 28:3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

God gave ISREAL a choice
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Some people mistakenly believe that God of the Old Testament was aGod of Judgment and God of the New Testament is a God of Love the nature of God does not change.

The Captivity was long in coming and the people was given every opportunity to repent God sent prophets to warn the people was a expression of his love

13-14 Divine appeal Daniel. Indicated ISREAL ISREAL did not seek pardon for there sins bottom line was that the people did not wont to turn from there sins Daniel acknowledge this was Israel's problem

This has always been man,s problem and is today
Verse( 9-14 ) , he was declaring that God kept ready the calamity that eventually came upon the nations.

Closing in response to Daniel prayer the Angle Garbiel appeared to Daniel

Dan 9:21 Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
Dan 9:22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy

Bottom line. We all going to pay for our sins. Sin will block your healing, your finance, your health

God Bless you

Dan 9:4 And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
Scriptures Dan 9:5 We have sinned, and have
SCRIPTURES. 5 We have sinned and committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
Dan 9:6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
Dan 9:7 O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
Dan 9:8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
Dan 9:9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
Dan 9:10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
Dan 9:11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
Dan 9:12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
Dan 9:13 As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.
Dan 9:14 Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
